Works currently in progress

Here are a few pieces in various stages of development.  I'll usually do a monochrome underpainting as a first step in the painting in order to establish a clear relationship in values as well as fine tune the composition.  Then I'll use a limited palette to begin establishing color. In later layers I'll use my full palette to strengthen the color and value contrasts.
